To persuade elected officials to address our mounting fiscal problems, we need to engage the business community across the country. PGPF supports efforts of the Committee for Economic Development to raise awareness and mobilize business leaders who can reach out to their peers on Wall Street and Main Street.
CED is a non-profit, non-partisan organization made up of some 200 senior corporate executives and university leaders who provide cutting edge policy research on today’s most vital economic issues. With the Foundation’s grant, CED will identify and support business leaders who will address our most daunting economic challenges: budget deficits, health-care reform, tax reform, and entitlement reform. CED will build upon its recent successful initiatives, including the recruitment of senior corporate executives as well as the next generation of business leaders in the reform effort; events across the country promoting the need for fiscal responsibility; online marketing; and outreach to policymakers, media, the business community, and other opinion leaders.
