Internship Opportunities

DESCRIPTION: The Peter G. Peterson Foundation (PGPF) is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the nature and urgency of key fiscal challenges threatening America’s future, and to accelerating action on them. We are a nonpartisan foundation headquartered in New York City.

A new organization, founded in 2008 by Peter G. Peterson, co-founder of the private equity firm The Blackstone Group, we are tackling key fiscal responsibility issues by developing broad reach, a high impact public profile, expert positioning and communications strategies directed toward public policy areas and the American public at large.

Interns will provide support in our areas of research, communications and special projects. Depending on qualifications and interests, specific responsibilities may include:

  • Providing support for various research projects by updating data spreadsheets, charts and fact-checking;
  • Researching key economic and legislative developments that are relevant to the work of the Foundation
  • Editing press and promotional/marketing materials
  • Assisting in the preparation of special projects and events
  • Updating communication databases
  • Providing other administrative and programmatic support
  • PGPF offers internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate level students in public policy, economics, journalism, communication, or a related field. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong research, analytical, organizational and writing skills. They must be able to work independently and also be effective in a collaborative team environment.

    Ideal candidates must show enthusiasm for the Foundation’s mission in promoting responsible fiscal policy as well as politics and current events.
