The Concord Coalition

www.concordcoalition.org

The Foundation is pleased to award the Concord Coalition $1.5 million to expand its highly acclaimed Fiscal Wake-Up Tour, an urgent, bipartisan call for changes to America's fiscal policies in the tradition of Paul Revere. The Tour's town-hall meetings promote a dialogue about tough choices with respect to budget controls, entitlement reform, spending reprioritization and constraint, and tax reform. These meetings are featured in the critically acclaimed forthcoming documentary IOUSA, which will arrive in theatres in summer 2008.

Peterson Foundation funding will support future town halls in key battleground states between now and the 2008 presidential election, as well as follow-up visits to selected cities in order to reinforce grassroots efforts. The grant also will support the creation of five citizen action committees in cities around the country to encourage local businesses and citizens to raise the bar for discussion of key fiscal issues. And, it will support the development of multimedia educational and communications materials and the organization of screenings of IOUSA in all 50 states.

Partners in the Fiscal Wake-Up Tour include The Concord Coalition, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, the Brookings Institution and the Heritage Foundation. The Concord Coalition is a 501(c)3 organization focused on promoting federal fiscal responsibility.
