The Foundation is pleased to award Common Good, in partnership with NewTalk.org, a grant for $45,000 to support the development and operation of NewTalk.org's series of online conversations about America's fiscal future and a broader but related conversation regarding entitlement reform.
NewTalk.org's format, topics and expert participants are geared towards influencing the public discussion and ultimately forcing political candidates and leaders to embrace tough, but responsible policy choices. Potential contributors are invited to join discussions based on a demonstrated ability to articulate far-reaching ideas, rather than simply to promote a partisan agenda.
Over the past several months, experts have come from dozens of organizations within the Common Good community, such as Public Agenda, the Manhattan Institute, Brookings, Harvard University, Committee for Economic Development, AARP, NRDC and UFT, as well as from new affiliates such as Greenpeace, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Intermountain Health Care, the International Energy Agency, and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
The Common Good is a non-profit, non-partisan legal reform coalition. The coalition is dedicated to restoring common sense to America. By conducting polls, hosting forums, and engaging with leaders in healthcare, education, law, business, and public policy from across the country, Common Good is developing practical solutions to restore reliability to our political and legal system.
