The Paul Revere of Deficit Distress
Dave Walker, PGPF's CEO and President, appeared on ABC's Good Morning America today to discuss this year's record-high national deficit of $482 billion and the new documentary that will alert Americans to this economic "inconvenient truth": I.O.U.S.A., which premieres in theaters nationwide on August 21. Walker, deemed the "Paul Revere of deficit doom," warned in the interview that absent timely bipartisan action to "defuse the ticking time bomb," the nation will face a "real economic crisis."
To put this year's over-the-top deficit in perspective, GMA offered a few modest proposals to pay off the $482 billion: that every American donate either $2,000, 500 gallons of gasoline, or "in terms we can all really understand," 666 morning lattes.
