NEW YORK — The Peter G. Peterson Foundation is joining with POLITICO to present the inaugural series of Morning Money Breakfast Briefings, hosted by POLITICO’s Chief Economic Correspondent, Ben White. The series will consist of four briefings over the course of the year, taking place in Washington, D.C., and New York City. The first briefing will take place on April 9 at 8:00 am ET, at the Newseum in Washington. It will feature an in-depth conversation between Ben White and Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio).

As policymakers move beyond the short-term deadlines that have driven fiscal policy in recent years, the Morning Money Breakfast Briefings will feature fiscal informed commentary and discussion that will reinforce the connections between the nation’s long-term challenges and the most pressing economic policy issues of the day. Topics will include fiscal policy decisions, ways to achieve long-term reform, market news, and other critical matters shaping the economic future of the country.

"As we move beyond the fiscal brinkmanship of recent years, it remains essential that we confront the choices we face as a nation and finally address the real drivers of our debt," said Peterson Foundation President Michael A. Peterson. "The Morning Money briefing sessions provide a valuable opportunity to explore key fiscal and economic issues with top policy experts and leaders. These timely conversations represent an opportunity to take a longer term perspective in discussions of these fundamental challenges that so far remain unsolved."

In addition to the Morning Money Breakfast Briefing sponsorship, the Peterson Foundation also hosts other policy-focused events, produces original fiscal analysis and commentary, develops interactive tools and resources for public use, and funds policy research and other projects focused on key areas of the budget.
