Jeffrey D. Selberg Joins PGPF to Lead Healthcare Initiatives
NEW YORK — The Peter G. Peterson Foundation has hired noted healthcare leader Jeffrey D. Selberg, MHA, to lead its healthcare efforts. The Foundation is developing a growing program of initiatives and grants aimed at fostering improvements in the U.S. healthcare system, which Mr. Selberg will shape and oversee.
Mr. Selberg, most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), has more than 35 years of experience in healthcare leadership. Prior to IHI, he served as President and CEO of Exempla Healthcare in Colorado, and has served in several other executive leadership roles with healthcare institutions, including as President and CEO of Southwest Washington Medical Center, and Executive Vice President for Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center in Oregon. Mr. Selberg currently serves on the board of the National Center for Healthcare Leaders, and previously served on the boards of the Health Research and Educational Trust and the American Hospital Association.
Throughout his career, Mr. Selberg has focused on improving patient safety and clinical outcomes in patient care through the combination of effective public policy, system principles, and the development of highly functioning teams. Mr. Selberg will officially join the Foundation in early 2014, and further information about his role and the Foundation’s growing healthcare program will be announced in coming months.
