The Peter G. Peterson Foundation’s final Fiscal Confidence Index for 2013 shows that American voters hold deep concerns about the nation’s long-term fiscal health, continuing a consistent 12-month trend.

With the Congressional Budget Office scheduled to release its annual long-term budget outlook on Tuesday, the Breakfast Briefing will provide a preview of the fiscal policies that will take center stage this fall.

Senior Administration officials, policy experts and Democratic and Republican elected leaders will come together in Washington to discuss solutions to the nation’s fiscal challenges at the 2011 Fiscal Summit.

Now in its third year, the Fiscal Summit has become the premier annual gathering dedicated to advancing solutions to America’s long-term fiscal challenges.

“Sequestration represents nothing less than a failure of government in Washington. Sequestration is the wrong way to reduce federal spending.”

The forum will feature conversation and insights from top Congressional leaders, two former Fed Chairs, and other leading policymakers.

Approximately eight in ten believe that the President and Congress should spend more time addressing the issue (82%).

Voters continue to be very concerned about the country’s long-term fiscal and economic challenges, and are not optimistic that policymakers are focused enough on the problem.

The 2015 Fiscal Summit to convene lawmakers and leading experts to explore economic and fiscal opportunity in America as the recovery gains strength and the 2016 election begins to take shape.
