Amid ongoing negotiations in Washington since the expiration of key relief programs, 89% of voters say that America needs another coronavirus economic aid package, according to latest Financial Times-Peterson Foundation US Economic Monitor. The poll released on September 22, reveals public sentiment on a range of national issues, including financial wellbeing, schools reopening, and voting in the 2020 election, which the majority of voters plan to do without heading to the polls on Election Day.
Looking ahead, most voters expect it will take the U.S. economy more than a year to fully recover, believe that restrictions on non-essential businesses and social distancing requirements should not be lifted for at least three more months, and are more likely to say the pandemic will get worse in their communities over the next month.
